TATA MOTORS LAUNCHES FIRST INDIAN LNG BUS India’s first Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) bus is the outcome of collaboration between Petronet LNG Limited (PLL), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd and Tata Motors Ltd, aiming to introduce LNG as a fuel in commercial vehicles. The LNG fuelled bus is being launched as part of a national plan of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas to use LNG directly for mass transportation, lower the environmental impact of transport emissions and simultaneously generate savings. A successful transition to this cleaner fuel will assist India to meet its COP21 commitment.

DAIMLER BUSES AVAILABLE ACROSS INDIA BY YEAR-END Daimler is preparing to achieve pan-Indian presence for its bus business by the end of this year. Also, the company’s vehicle manufacturing factory near Chennai is set to export its first fully-built bus soon. The company said it had sold over 1,000 Oragadam-built buses in both domestic and export markets (only chassis) since the start of its bus sale in November 2015. Now, with expanded reach, the company seeks to enter faster-growth curve.
